回北极途中的雪雁, snow goose on way to North Pole

时间:  Sat, March 30, 每年的四月份

飞行高度/速度: 南飞过程中雪雁通常会在3000英尺的高空以每小时40至50英里的速度飞行。但雷达观测到甚至20000英尺的高空也有雪雁的飞行痕迹

地点:  baie du febvre, 3:30 pm

器材: Canon 长焦 300 + 广角

 

 

 

下午 1:30  pm 出发, 同车的一个来探亲的父亲,典型的摄影爱好者. 3:29 pm  到达 Baie du Febvre. 估计有个万八只雁在融化的田地里吃饭．逆光，不能正面拍摄．天空中飞来的和飞走的雁让我想到了轰炸机群，是显示长焦优势的好战场．１个小时后，累了，准备等夕阳的时候正面拍摄飞起来的雁，就去找厕所了，相机留在车里．
回来的途中，不好的事情发生了．只见十几只雁飞了起来，之后叫了几声，转瞬间，地里的雁全飞起来了，如同一片白云升起，２分钟后，连它们在空中的影子都找不到了．我们，傻了．
为了补偿这个错误，我们立即行动起来，开车，去找其他地里的雁，２０分钟后，找到另外一片地．数量少多了，但也是一顿狂拍．
６点，意外发现夕阳很好，一直拍到　７：３０pm ,　同去的另外３人说是发现了熊的脚印，跟踪而去，一个小时后从一片密林中失望归来．
搞笑的是，一人把广角镜头放在后背箱里，但不知道可以在 driver seat 上可以打开，傻等到找熊的司机归来．夕阳已经拍不到了，唉，也没跟我说一声．
回来途中，跟着 gps　走了一条准高速，开得提心吊胆，幸亏我开夜路比以前强了一些．９：３０　准时到家．
看了一眼油价，唉，又买了高点．

Stranded killer whales break free from Hudson Bay ice

“They are free, they are gone,” Johnny Williams, the town manager, said in a telephone interview. “Last night, the winds shifted from the north. The ice cracked and with the new moon, the ice went. We have open waters on the coastline of Hudson Bay.”

He said the whales’ escape was a huge relief for Inukjuak. Over the last few days, 80 people at a time had gone out on the ice to watch the whales. “We were all trying to find out how we can save them,” he said. “We observed the wind, the moon, everything.”
